New Year challenge fatigue – and it’s still December

My January tradition is to attempt (note: not complete!) Apartment Therapy’s  January Cure . I wasn’t going to attempt it again this year. Then I saw “decluttering” in the blurb and thought maybe they are changing it up. This provoked in me an irrational need 1) to know and 2) not to miss out. So needless to say I’m signed up.

Then I got an email about Courtney Carver’s The Busy Boycott 21 Day Challenge. Oooh that sounds good.

And finally just now I have seen that Joshua Becker’s  Uncluttered starts January 1.

Decisions, decisions! Feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the great simple living options – ironic huh?

Are you trying out any challenges for the New Year? Got any recommendations?

    1. Great plan.
      Right now what I love about challenges is that they give me a bit of a framework around which to explore new ideas. Also I love engaging with others also undertaking the same challenge.

    I also love a Challenge. I enjoyed following your Friday food waste challenge. I wasn’t quite there then as I was in the deculttering phase of ‘becoming a minimalist’…tried with the food but I needed some extra knowledge and skills to be consistent.

    I did an 8 week round of I Quit Sugar last year and am totally on board with reducing food waste as a result. I needed it to learn to cook but the benefits went way beyond the cooking as now I’m menu planning, cooking from scratch and garden planning! I will do it again in Feb as I want to really build on where I left off. I still engage with a few awesome people from that.

    With decluttering I kind of did my own thing taking on a bit of every challenge.

    This year my biggest challenge is to buy nothing new, so far so good, loving that I am thinking a little more resourcefully. This is a creative year for me.

    Looking forward to reading what challenge you choose.

    1. Thanks Fran! I haven’t left #FoodWasteFriday behind – it will be coming back shortly. I’ve decided to go with the Busy Boycott – I have been thinking a lot about busyness over the last 6 months or so, so it really fits with what I want to achieve.
      Good on you for doing the I Quit Sugar challenge. I have read up on that but have not yet been brave enough to try. You’ve just reminded me how curious I was to calculate how much sugar I consume – I am sure it is way too much.
